Dulcie Brighthop: So what’s the hurry, I wonder?

Two-Ways Mayce: A desire to prove something, so he says. He was here from the beginning, before the Vanguard was better-organized. They really did just throw people into the wasteland, to get a feel for things. Unsalvageable was a boon to the Vanguard in those days. He’d go missing for weeks, but he’d always return eventually, because he couldn’t die.
